A November to Remember: Progress on Charleston Head Spa

The journey to our new flagship location at 1606 Ashley River Road has been nothing short of thrilling, nerve-wracking, and deeply rewarding. As we prepare to expand from our current two-bed sanctuary to a luxurious eight-bed oasis, we're excited to share what’s been happening over the past month.

1. Plans Submitted and Permits in Progress

The architect and engineering plans are officially submitted to the Charleston Permit Office! (And, if you work there, we make excellent brownies—just kidding!) Waiting for approvals has been a nail-biting experience, but we're hopeful for a swift review process.

This is a big step forward, and while we're a little impatient, we're using this time to focus on other critical details for the new location.

2. Plumbing Woes Turned into Wins

Last month wasn’t without its challenges. We tackled a major plumbing issue with one of our existing spa beds. After an exhausting four-hour fix, the water pressure is better than ever! We’re taking this as a sign that even obstacles can lead to improvements.

3. Training with Milbon: Enhancing Expertise

A huge shout-out to Milbon, the premium product line we use for scalp and hair health.

Their representative visited us for an in-depth, two-hour training session.

While we pride ourselves on exceptional service, this deeper understanding of Milbon’s technology and formulations has given us a new level of expertise. Our treatments are now even more effective, and, dare we say, our scalps have never looked better!

4. The Beds Are Here!

It’s official—our new head spa beds have arrived! While they’re currently stored in our garage, we're planning to rent a climate-controlled storage unit to keep them safe from Charleston’s infamous humidity.

With six additional beds coming into our new space, we can’t wait to serve more guests and create unforgettable relaxation experiences.

5. Demolition Starts December 1st

Mark your calendars! The interior demolition of 1606 Ashley River Road is scheduled to begin on December 1st. This is a monumental milestone that brings us one step closer to bringing our vision to life.

Of course, this phase comes with its fair share of financial pressures, but we are deeply grateful to everyone who has booked appointments, rebooked, or purchased gift cards. Your support is fueling this dream!

6. A Sneak Peek at the New Sign

We’ve been hard at work painting the exterior border of our sign at 1606 Ashley River

Road. The base is a sleek black, and we painted the blue to a black to match. Soon, the new sign—white with gold accents—will go up, along with a “Coming Soon” banner to keep everyone informed.

Once again this location won't be open until March 1st. Hopefully everything goes well and we might get an earlier date. We will keep everyone notified.

7. Looking Ahead

As we approach the finish line, the excitement is palpable, but so are the nerves. In a time of economic uncertainty, it’s both thrilling and daunting to take such a big leap. Yet, we’re motivated by our mission: to provide Charleston with a relaxing escape that’s unlike anything else.
