The Timeline Shift: March 1st Opening
We initially hoped to open our new location by December 1st, but due to some unavoidable delays with permits and drawings, our grand opening has been pushed back to March 1st. As first-time business owners, we underestimated the complexities involved in these processes. The good news is our contractors are working tirelessly to ensure everything is ready. While this delay is frustrating, it’s also part of the journey of building something special from the ground up.
The Incredible Demand: Fully Booked Until January!
Despite our delayed opening, the interest and bookings have been overwhelming. We are fully booked until January, which is a bittersweet situation. On the one hand, we are incredibly grateful for the support and enthusiasm from our clients. On the other hand, it’s challenging for those of you trying to book an appointment and experiencing delays.
Every day, Molly and I brainstorm ways to accommodate more clients and ensure everyone can experience our unique Japanese head spa services. It's inspiring to see so many clients rebooking their head spa sessions months in advance—an encouraging sign that we are offering something truly special here at Charleston Head Spa.

Our head spa experience is unlike any other in Charleston, South Carolina. Our Space: What’s Coming in 2025
The latest designs show that we’ll have room for eight beds instead of the six we initially planned. This layout will include:
Two double rooms for shared experiences
Four private rooms for clients who prefer solitude
We believe the private rooms will elevate your experience, allowing you to relax deeply and feel completely safe. If you happen to doze off during your treatment, we consider that a sign of success—you’re in a place where you feel relaxed and at ease.
Furniture Challenges and Hurricanes—We’re Managing It All
Our furniture and spa beds will be arriving soon, and with construction still ongoing, we’ve had to get creative with storage solutions. Most likely, we’ll be storing the furniture in our garage while construction wraps up. On top of everything else, we’ve weathered two hurricanes recently, but we’re pushing through, staying positive, and keeping things moving forward.

We know many of you have gift cards, and we are doing everything we can to accommodate you. Typically, when appointments open up, we prioritize those with gift cards to ensure you can use them without delay. Molly and I envisioned working a few days a week, but running Charleston Head Spa has become a full-time endeavor. Every day, we strategize not only for the current month but also for the long term. While we haven’t made it to a five-year plan yet, we’re focused on making each day count and navigating this rollercoaster ride of entrepreneurship.
We are a mom-and-pop business, not a franchise, and we’ve faced many challenges along the way. Some days we feel like we’re soaring, and other days—like when we found out our opening would be delayed—it feels like a downturn. But we’re in this for the long haul, and your support keeps us going.
